Wandering Jew

Tradescantia zebrina (Wandering Jew or Inch Plant) is a fast-growing, trailing herbaceous perennial known for its vibrant foliage, featuring purple-green leaves with two silver stripes on top and deep magenta undersides. Native to Mexico/Central America, this low-maintenance plant has succulent stems, prefers moist soil, bright indirect light, and is ideal for hanging baskets or groundcover.

Foliage: Ovate, pointed leaves (2–4 inches long) that are zebra-patterned with green/purple, silver stripes, and solid purple underneath.
Habit: Trailing and succulent, creating a dense, mat-forming groundcover 6–12 inches high.
Stems: Purple and mottled, with rooting at the nodes (joints).
Flowers: Small, insignificant, rose-pink flowers appear throughout the year.
Light Requirement: Thrives in bright to partial shade; too much sun can cause fading, while too little makes it leggy.
Maintenance: Easy to grow, propagates quickly from stem cuttings, and prefers consistent moisture.
