Yarrow (Achillea) is a tough, drought-tolerant perennial flowering plant in the daisy family (Asteraceae) known for its feathery, fern-like leaves and flat-topped flower clusters.

Growing Conditions & Care
Light: Requires full sun (at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily).
Soil: Thrives in well-doped, sandy, or loamy soil with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH (6.5–7.5). It prefers poor to average soil and tolerates drought once established. Avoid rich soils or over-fertilizing, which leads to weak, floppy stems.
Water: Low-water needs; let soil dry out between waterings. Wet or soggy soil causes root rot.Hardiness: Generally hardy in USDA Zones 3 through 9.
Size: Grows 1 to 3 feet tall and spreads 1 to 3 feet wide.
Maintenance & Uses
Pruning: Deadhead spent flowers to prolong the blooming season (early summer through fall) and prevent aggressive self-seeding. Cut plants back by half after the initial heavy summer bloom to encourage a fresh flush of foliage or fall flowers.
Propagation: Easily propagated by dividing established clumps every 2 to 3 years.
