Marigold - African Mixed Colors

Inca II marigolds (Tagetes erecta) are compact, heat-loving African marigolds prized for massive, 3–5 inch, fully double blooms in yellow, orange, or gold. Standing 12–14 inches tall, they are sturdy, early-blooming, and ideal for containers, borders, or bedding, providing non-stop color from spring until frost. 
Key Characteristics and Description
Bloom Type: Fully double, rounded, and large (up to 5" across) "ball-shaped" flowers.
Color Range: Vibrant shades of yellow, gold, and deep orange.
Plant Structure: Upright, well-branched, and compact (semi-dwarf), usually reaching 12–14 inches in both height and width.
Foliage: Dark green, fragrant, and fern-like.
Stems: Strong and sturdy, holding the large, heavy blooms upright without bending. 
Growing Requirements and Performance
Exposure: Thrives in full sun (6+ hours).
Hardiness/Season: Annual, performs best in summer; heat-tolerant.
Soil: Prefers well-drained, average soil.
Maintenance: Low maintenance, but deadheading (removing faded flowers) encourages more blooms.
Uses: Excellent for garden beds, containers, and, due to their sturdy stems and large size, make good cut flowers. 
The Inca II series is known for being more compact and reliable, with better weather resistance compared to older, taller varieties.
