Fuchsia

Fuchsia is a popular, trailing, tender perennial (often grown as an annual) known for their drooping, tubular flowers that resemble earrings. Common in hanging baskets, they bloom in vibrant shades of pink, purple, red, and white from summer to frost, preferring shade and moist, well-draining soil.
Key Characteristics:
Flowers: Pendulous, 1–2 inches long, featuring four, often contrasting, sepals and a bell-shaped corolla with prominent stamens.
Habit: A trailing, cascading, or "weeping" habit, perfect for elevated planters.
Foliage: Small, pointed, dark green leaves that complement the bright blooms.
Growth Rate/Size: Medium-height, maturing around 8-12" tall and 18-24" wide.
Attracts: Hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees. 
Growing Conditions:
Light: Prefers part shade to full shade.
Soil: Requires moist, well-drained, and fertile soil.
Hardiness: Best in Zones 8–11; it is not frost-hardy and requires protection or to be brought indoors in cold climates.
Maintenance: Easy to maintain; a light trim after the first, heavy flush of blooms encourages more flowers.
