Cosmos - Sonata
Cosmos - Sonata
Sonata™ Complete Mixture Cosmos is a dwarf, bushy annual (approx. 24" tall) popular for its, early, prolific, and large (3-inch) daisy-like blooms in shades of pink, white, and Carmine. It is highly heat-tolerant, easy to grow, and ideal for containers, garden beds, or as cut flowers.
Key Characteristics and Care:
Size: Compact, dwarf, and bushy habit, growing 12 to 24 inches tall and 10 to 16 inches wide.
Bloom Time: Late spring through late summer/fall.
Sunlight: Full sun (at least 6 hours) is required for best performance.
Soil/Water: Thrives in poor to average, well-drained soil; drought-tolerant once established.
Spacing: 12 to 16 inches apart.
Uses: Excellent for patio containers, 5-6 inch pots, and garden borders.
Tips for Success:
Pinching: Pinch out the stem tips when plants are 1 foot tall to encourage a bushier, more branched, and productive plant.
Maintenance: Deadhead regularly to promote continuous blooming throughout the season.
Fertilizer: Avoid over-fertilizing with nitrogen, as this encourages foliage over blooms.
Support: Although dwarf, they may need staking in windy areas.
